The "Black Times" is a news commentary about what is going on in the black community. Unfortunately, we decided to write about what we could not receive continued coverage on our community. Unfortunately, in today's society (meaning 2007) we as a black people still have to provide avenues for our own portals of information. Due to neglect, due to being overlooked with regards to new coverage therefore, The "Black Times" was created.
Example: I was recently watching CNN about a black woman who went to a club and just disappeared this story was covered for about a three days and then nothing.
Example: Two little boys went missing a couple of months ago and I am waiting and watching all the top news channel MSNBC, CNN, Local News and Nancy Grace who had covered the story initially. Then nothing it was just like the story disappeared. So I went online and found out the two boys had been found dead in a river.
Do I dare apologize for creating a page for news on our people and community I don't think so. If we have to go online to search for information on a person of color/a black person because the person is not important enough for the media to offer continued coverage on their status of life and death. Then here comes The "Black Times".
Our women and children go missing everyday and there is no coverage or little coverage, and no follow up.

As we traveled to Kenner, Metarie, LA, and Houston, TX for a funeral it was imperative that we get an up close look at the damages firsthand and this is what we saw, deserted streets, no people, no cars moving ..... and this is how I felt...as if there were people still inside of these homes, that there was uncovered death, mournful losses and it bought tears to my eyes, because you just knew, I knew that there was human loss.
