How are you and your girlfriends doing? Got Any? Do you feel that the ones you have had for many years are they still your girl? Does your girlfriend support you in your career goals or do they just give you the mmmm on everything?
Well I have found out through the years that my "girls" were not for me you know how you get that little intuition and you just ignore it cause thats your girl. But as you grow as a person you can no longer justify that little intuition as it tells you that your home girl is not for you any more or was she ever. Gotta let her go the negative comments or just the evasive mmmm gives you no ground for positive communication. Just a little something today.
How is your job going? Do you trust the people at work your manager and such?
Issue: Some Women of Color are being fired for no good reason - just being let go. Example: A young woman (26) working for a temp service for 3 1/2 months is fired when the temp service issued an extra check (this temp service is known for making mistakes on their payroll) so the temp company wants their money back about $400 dollars. So the outcome is: Fired the worker, took their money out of her last check. This young woman had excellent employment history, showing up to work on time, not missing any days and the medical facility where she worked was in the process of hiring her.
This kind of dismissal with the temporary placement agencies has been going on for some time, the dismissing of those they don't like, those who are not like them, firing people on the "Just Because" premise, years ago I was one of those individuals.
CarolA.Mann.Com has initiated a "Women of Color Advocacy Center" to come to the aid of those in the employment arena who need a voice. We are aware that there are two sides to every story, and that is our goal to assist, and perhaps help these individuals who deserve to keep their jobs do so.
Real Life: I interviewed for a Medical Placement Service (20 employees) in Phoenix, AZ and during the interview the Manager asked me how I would feel when an employer called in and asked "Can you send me a Admin Assist with blonde hair, big knockers", or "Please don't send a black person," or a "Person of color", "No hispanics". She stated "Of course, we don't work with those employers who request this type of service". I thought, "yes you probably do, these are the companies you work with". I did not get this position as Recruiting Manager after-all, the companies would call in and say "no minorities today"
After-all who monitors the temporary services, and the permanent placement agencies, no one. These companies have popped up all over the United States, which is so easy to do, start your own - even from the comfort of your own home.
This goes on too often, firing, discrimination, harassment, and so much more, a voice has come to life "Women of Color Advocacy Center".
